OnTrack is a high efficient and economical radiant floor heating system with panels placed between subfloor and finish flooring, also known as 'sleeper' or 'sandwich' style installation.
Each panel groove is precision milled to fit 1/2" nominal I.D. tubing (5/8" O.D.) such as PEX, PEX-AL-PEX or EVOH coated 'Oxygen Barrier' PEX.
Each panel has 3 arches that route tubing back to straight 'field' panel sections with designed spacing of 8" O.C. between track grooves.
Panel material is APA approved 23/32" plywood that will pair with similar caliper 3/4" plywood or OSB field tracks.
Installation:
Return panels are glued and screwed in place over subfloor with arches alternating rows.
Cut halfway through the arch to create a 90 degree 'elbow' turn.
Straight panels are layed and secured in the linear 'field' sections, leaving a 3/4" to 7/8" gap for inserting heat transfer plates and/or tubing.
Aluminum thermal conductive sealant can be used to bond tubing to panel, remove air voids and increase thermal conductance with panels or adjoining plates.
Note: if intending to use end loop aluminum heat transfer plates (u-turn plates), purchase the OnTrack return panels for 5/8" nominal pex (7/8" O.D.) to provide enough clearance for insterting the plate before tubing.
