Our stainless steel 316 hypodermic tubing is molybdenum bearing austenitic steel containing a higher percentage of nickel and a smaller percentage of chromium compared to 304. The higher corrosion resistance of 316 stainless vs. 304 stainless is particularly useful when working with phosphoric and acetic acids.
